am i the only one that finds it odd that the "fully rugged" cf-28 doesn't have the modem and lan ports covered like the 27's 29's and 30's do? what if water gets in their?

They are pretty well sealed from behind. Remember... They aren't waterproof... Just water resistant.

I haven't tried pouring water into them, but they are pretty well sealed up on the inside. There's grey silicone all around them. I would have to imagine they are at least somewhat waterproof.

It's not like the Verizon GZ'one phone... If only I had the money, I'd have one. :D

I suppose it could be a cool mod to seal them though.

I had an i55, nothing could kill that thing. I used to keep it in my shirt pocket at work (never got a belt clip, and i had to keep it close to my ears if i were to have any chance of hearing it) and one day i was up in a manlift as high as it would go, hooking up a buss plug in the high bay press area so i was about 30' up. well my dumb butt must have leaned over too far, and woooosh, there it goes.. 30' to hard concrete. The battery popped loose, but that was it. I put it back on, powered it up, and it was fine.

Everyone else hated the i55s because they didn't have any "features". I liked it simply for the fact that I could depend on it! I think it was the toughbook of phones

I had an i205 when I was a cable guy, and I was down in River Rouge on a pole when my supervisor called me up... I got tired of his nagging, and dropped the phone.

I could still hear him nagging away 28 feet down my ladder.

    Damn phone.
