Rob posted a while back about a 29 battery being used in a 30; it's now on his very useful Toughbook Quirks thread.
But is there consensus that this is okay? The 29 battery puts out 11.1 V and the 30 battery is listed at 10.5V. I've got some nice 29 yellow tab batteries I'd like to use, and while I know that Rob's word is golden . . . . Any reason not to do it?
On the ssd front, put a Samsung EVO250 gb and just smokes--figuratively speaking, of course. The Samsung Magician software that comes with it pretty much follows the SSD optimization thread, though I've geared mine for longevity and reliability rather than performance. I've even made my peace with Windows 7. Word 2007 and after is still pretty bad, but discovered Apache Open Office 4, which is a dream.

Personally I have used the 29 batteries in several other toughbooks 30,52 with out problems. Since I have personally done the switch to Windows 7 that is about all I use.
