Hey guys, just picked up another toughbook. This one is a cf-29 mk5 model number CF-29NDLGFBM. Every time I boot the laptop up I get an fidtserv.exe error. Says could not load driver. Any ideas?

Also, I have 3 unknown devices in the manager. Is there a way to tell what they are so I can get the drivers?

    Thanks

fidtserv.exe refers to a Fujitsu touch panel (Google is your friend) which the NDLGFBM doesn't have. Sounds like you need a restore disc to get everything setup easily and correctly.

Thanks Glen. I did google it but I was unaware the mk5 didnt have the Fujitsu touch panel. Im going to take your advice and start fresh the the recovery discs. Too many issues right now.

This particular model doesn't have a touchscreen. I'm using one now. It should have an AT&T HSDPA modem, though, if it's like mine, has a Sprint sticker on the bottom. The WWAN won't install from the recovery discs. Download the connection manager and drivers, 1 file, from Panasonic.

    CF-29NDLGFBM DESCRIPTION:
Intel Pentium M 778 1.6GHz LV (Centrino), 13.3" NON Touch XGA, 256MB, 60GB, Intel 802.11a+b+g, Win XP SP2, HSDPA, Dual Pass Through, Emissive Backlit Keyboard, TPM1.2, No Optical

This is the same unit I have, and if you have not yet discovered it from the threads in this Forum, it is one of the few CF-29s that can handle a 2GB RAM upgrade. :)
    Already answered.
As previously noted, get a set of CF-29 Mk5 Product Recovery CDs and the HSDPA driver file Glen referred you to, then you will be "As OEM" and your system will be optimized, especially with the 2GB memory upgrade from Crucial Technology (256Mx64 PC2-5300 CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM). :D
