    Folks
I have a MK5 cf-29 that just has the factory WIFI so the rear "rf" connector is connected to the wifi card which is good for me because i dont have to remove (hopefully) the factory connector and install a bulkhead in it. That being said what kind of adaptor/pigtail can i buy to attach to this rear RF connector. Is there such a connector or is this mearly a press fit for use in conjunction with a doc station/vehicle mount. I want to instal an external antenna and it would be ideal if i could use this existing connector if possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :D

A vehicle dock should connect right up to that connector. Some docks have the wifi port and some do not. Buyer beware.

I just want to connect an antenna directly to the laptop without a vehicle doc. Is there a connector out there that will let me plug into the rear of the laptop directly?

    Few questions if you remember
When you removed the small pcb with the rear connector attached to it in order to insert the bulkhead did you have to remove or loosen the motherboard? My bulkhead is kind of long and wont fit past the motherboard. The other ? i had was where did you put that small pcb after the bulkhead was in place did you just stuff it into the void underneath the motherboard and tape it up so it would not short out?

I think the rear pcb will fit if you wiggle enough and remove the wires first. Do you have the dual setup?
I just taped up the small board and hid it.

Yeah i taped it up and hid it, No no dual set up this unit just has the WIFI. I got the bulkhead solderd to the pass-thru board and tested it for shorts ect :D Well Honestly after I installed the bulkhead fired it up and attached an external antenna I really dont see too much of an improvement If any from the stock antennas on the lid. Rick you were right again :)

If you use a cantenna, you will see an improvement. I could pick up a signal 3/4 mile away. it also works nice if you are in a vehicle and use a roof antenna.
