Different models of the panasonic replicator of the variation of CF-VEB272AW, CF-VEB272A2W and or similar types come with a conversion cable and some without. Question is this, Where can you get a conversion cable to fit these port replicators that can be used to hook up the power without having to use the cf-29 laptop power port hookup and having the conversion cable hooked up all the time to the replicator, getting the power from the replicator port connector at the back of the cf-29? I've not had any luck finding either a part number or any generic type conversion cables to "smooth in" this so not to have to plug in the panasonic power supply to the DC power jack on the laptop. Is it possible to purchase these inexpensively or go through Heartlands to purchase in mass. Any ideas?............Driller

Lind makes at least one cable which converts the old style power supplies to the new style plugs, called a "gender changer", male 2.5 x 5.5mm Right Angle to In line MP205 socket (female). I'm not sure if they make one to go the other way. If you're using a dock which takes the MP205, I'd just buy a CF-28 power supply, Panasonic AC or Lind DC, either should be cheap, I might even have a couple laying around.

The conversion cable converts from the old style plug used on CF-28 and earlier to the new style used on CF-29 and later. if I understand the question, you can use an older style power adapter and connect it to the dock without the adapter. Amperage might be a concern tho, as the CF-28 supplies are typically 3.85A and the CF-29 supplies are 5A. There are a few 5A supplies with the older style plug, one I have is model CF-AA1653 M2, not sure if the M2 part means older plug or that is just random.

apparently these conversion cables are scarce as well as expensive. you would think there would be a generic type available. thanks for answering. maybe I'll luck up and find something that might work and not cost an" arm and a leg".... Captn , you wouldn't happen to be a pirate would you? you know, a hook on one arm and a wooden leg?....Driller

I have often, even recently, been called a pirate, but I'm just an old fishboat and tug driver.

I only made it to E-5, and you would get an argument on the gentleman part in some circles.
