as im still waiting for my tb to arrive, i am curious! does the door butt up right against any normal length cards? or is there any extra space - wishful thinking but it would be nice to be able use my 3g card without the door hanging open! even with the reduced signal....

If your card has ANY kind of bump at the end, it will not close. It has to be one of the "short" PCMCIA cards, the kind often advertised on fleabay.

aaaand we've just started his quest for a CF-29 WWAN mod, or another CF-29 with the WWAN sled built-in.

    Welcome. :)

I used a sierra wireless card with a removable external antenna on my first cf-29
Cut a hole through the cover and the antenna connecter fit through the hole and attached to the card as it was very tight to the cover
It was a long time ago and that card is no longer available/supported
My next cf-29 had the wwan built-in
