I picked up a cf-29LTQGWBM with touchscreen not working, so what else is new. I had a good touchscreen from a mk2 cf-29E that was working well on a parts unit. So, let's just swap 'em , right? Still, no worky. Put it on a cf-29H mk 3, it works fine, one of the SBC models. Put it on a cf-29EWPGZKM, it works fine. Went in and reloaded the recovery disc for a mk4 with touchscreen DFQX3894MA series. Re start touchscreen still not working. Go into device manager all looks well, checked driver and say is working properly. I know there is something obvious I'm missing here, any suggestions guys? Have replaced good touchscreens on defective cf-29's and they all worked and even put some on the cf-29 mk4-5 with 256mb onboard ram and got them to work out ok. Maybe there is something defective on the touchpad PCB here, any way I can know for sure? tune in for the next exciting episode of Let's Stump Driller, a comedy of errors.............Driller

Don't take this personally, but the obvious sometimes is just that, you know what assumes means , it makes an a$$ of U-N-ME, well it's me because I assumed that reloading the recovery disc for touchscreen would have automatically done just that. Short answer,it was disabled in the bios. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. I re-enabled it and it works like a champ. Many thanks my friend.........Driller (been pulling too many late nite hours with my new toughbook addiction)

I must come and visit your lovely country some day soon. I think my son and his wife are looking in that direction as they are globe hoppers. They're headed to Paris again over New Years. My Dad traveled way too much during WWII and I heard many stories from him. He didn't get the chance till after the war to see a less deadly side of life.. again, thanks my friend.....Driller

CF-29TQGWBM is not a touchscreen model. Probably why it won't work.

You need to read the whole thread, all CF-29s will work with a touchscreen, it doesn't matter if they had one from the factory. The problem was in the bios settings. The restore disks for the various marks all install TS drivers even if they're for non touch machines.
