So are you saying you did the restore or you tried to do a restore and it would not run ??
-
I think he did a factory restore and now his touchscreen doesn't work.
-
If you have not done this yet you need to pull all power. Hold power switch on for 15-20 seconds a few times. Plug in power supply only. F2 to bios......set to defaults[F9] ......[F10] to save.
Something I thought of....touch panel is USB.....I would do the above with no USB devices attached. If the screen is good this acts like a war for device control. Set the touchscreen up then hotplug your device.
Confirming this is a MK1? What bios and ec are you on? -

We need the full BIOS version. They are 2 - L20
V1.01L20 and Embedded Controller will be V1.10L11 - Vista ( XP to Vista )
V1.00L20 and Embedded Controller will be V1.00L17 - XP Pro (from Vista to XP )
-
so i think i am runing the wrong bios. if i get this right i have xp pro OS i need V1.00L20/EC V1.00L17
for XP pro
i am runing V1.01L20 / EC V1.10L11 that is for vista. but am useing XP as the OS
so i need V1.00L20/EC V1.00L17 right -
There are two bios upgrades. The one you want is the "Re-downgrade to XP" L20 L17. Good instructions, just make sure you run the right one.

The bios you are using is the wrong one, it will work but you lose your touchscreen as you know.

Well not sure about that but at least we need to start with the right bios first then go from there, its a easy down grade anyways.

well that worked thanks guys. as for the gobi 2000 it is not working yet
its there in bios and XP giveing me that ding ding ding ding once i try and turn it on. it worked fine some time ago. disabled WWAN in bios. never worked since -
Can I get some info from you.
What are the three devices called in device manager?
I've been running a Gobi2000 in my CF-52 for a year??? Occasional use. Short story it was one of those sold as Panasonic (China) that were NOT Panasonic.
Punch line. Today I pulled it from the CF-52 and set it up on a sled Rev A in my CF-30C3TCBBM. (Touch added of course.)
Key # 9001 or rather, Sierra Wireless HS_USB Modem 9001. Registered three devices after install at COM16, COM9 and USB something.
I see a lot of issues with CSA. I DID NOT use it. We are Verizon here so I used VZAM v 7.3.3 2515a.
Before anyone going bezeek and throwing programs at their machine the VZAM was looking for 9001. CSA would have failed since it is looking for whatever the heck the Pana specific card is. 250D?
That's why I asked.
Jeff...and he called it a short story... -
ya 9001 i have used the VZAM. it is in device manager and did reg. but VZ keeps saying it is disabled how ever it is showing in device manager enabled. and the wwan light on the front of the cf-30 will not turn on. like it did in the past when it did work. i only had one thing left VZ had to add my IMEI to there sys. that was a long time ago. so i was going to retry it. started up in bios set to to enabled in bios. never worked after i left it disabled in bios for so long.
i am going back on the road so it may be some time tell i get back to you all.
