I took delivery of a nice cf-31 mk4 today. Under 6k hours, and in very good condition. Even better than I expected.
Here's the mystery. Bios says 32 bit operating system, with 3 (and something) gb usable memory, with 8gb installed.
But the Windows system page (visible when you hit properties after left clicking computer icon) says its a 64 bit Windows operating system with 7 (and something) gb usable memory 8 installed. I bought the machine thinking it was a 64 bit system.
What should I believe, and how do you explain the variance? Sorry if this is a common occurrence. I'd never heard of it before.

32bit systems only support 4gb of memory. All I series processors are 64bit. Your Windows copy is 64 bit. Your system is 64bit too.
All the toughbook bioses say how much memory they support in 32bit. -
Does it say
8052 MB (3114 MB for 32bit OS) ? Numbers may be different.
Just a normal information thing.Shawn likes this. -
Yes, thanks folks. Didn't realize Bios just reported on 32 bit. Much appreciated.
BTW, though I'm not much on Windows 10, the cf-31s are really fast, and the screen is blinding bright. Now to get that ssd . . . . ; )
