    Hi
I gave my old cf-48 to my grandson a while ago and today he said it suddenly went dead. No lights come on at all at any time or even while the charger is plugged in. I tried the battery out of it in my cf-28 i use for gps on my quad and the battery is in great shape and fully charged.
Is there a fuse or common part that blows on the cf-48? I haven't opened it up yet and am fairly competent at replacing the odd component but thought I would check here first to see if any one has any ideas where to start or what to look for.
    thanks
    Randy

Try removing all drives and memory and see if it boots then. A bad component will lock it up.

True that. But the OP states that no lights are even coming on. I have seen more adapters go bad before fuses are blown on the board, but if the battery is know good, then I would look into the fuse problem. Our resident expert on this is Ohlip. I am not sure if he has experience with the 48's but if anyone knows where to look for that fuse, he would. Or you could try to find someone who has schematics for your model and try and find it yourself.

Yes, battery and charger are both tested good on other machines. No lights come on laptop at all. If any one knows where a fuse might be that would be great.
