so i installed windows 7 32bit with all the drivers and it seems to be working fine with no "yellow exclamation" marks in the device manager.

next, i installed battery recablication app. for this one, i had to download one from Vista, rather than Windows 7 section of the Panasonic website because windows 7 section there was none.

ran the program, checked that it began running, with a message that it would take 7 hours to complete. fine, i thought.

    i fell asleep.

That was 3 hours ago, and now i see that the laptop has been turned off and it has amber light

on the battery indicator LED. i hit ctrl, space, random keys multiple times and no response.

it seems as if it's been turned off.

now, should i power it back up to see what's going on? or is it still doing the "battery

recablication" thing while being powered down? i don't wanna power it back up if that's

    indeed the case.

    can someone help?

one more thing. i was looking for Panasonic app that shows # of battery charge cycles and

other information. Lenovo Thinkpads has what's called Power Manager that gives all kinds

of information such as, battery manufacturer, # of charge cycles done on the battery, current

wattage, power setting, etc. is there something equivalent for cf-74 also? i'm trying to find out

    how old the battery is...

According to my CF-30 Battery Recalibration the system will charge your battery first (if it needs it) then Discharge it and then TURN OFF the laptop and recharge your battery. First time i did mine took over 6 hours.

Nope, didn't turn itself on. Just showed the Green LED to say the battery was fully charged.

Panasonic application should be installed. PC Information viewer. Battery status tab.

I like this third party program. BatteryCare
