    ive recently purchsed a i5 cf-d1 it look like it has a sim slot but no options on the pc for mobile data is there a way to get this working?

    It's a Celeron not an i5.
    To get the mobile data, you need to buy and install the WWAN card. Mini PCIE interface.
    Buy a card from a Toughbook. Other brand cards are a hassle to get working.

    Any toughbook WWAN card as long as it will work with your carrier

    bought a "broken" CF-D1 for 45 euro's and removed the card reader and the small PCB that goes with the card reader (just underneath the PCMCIA slot). Sorry, but I do not have a part number for that.....
