As Blair (toughasnails)said.
CF-30 MK1 and CF-19MK1 had no option in bios hence the posts re: "bios upgrade to Vista".
Could you post your bios and ec number....this will nail it down in a hurry. From shawn's post you have a XP coa.
Problem 2 is the MK1 carried over the touch panel problems of the CF-18 and CF-29....screen separation due to heat. From CF-30 MK2 (and 19) on up this was corrected by Panasonic.
1. Upgrade your bios to Vista. (if necessary)
2. Get ready to buy a new touch panel....if not now, then later when yours separates.
To check the touch panel run a LinuxLive CD (Mint 17 works). If you get normal response then at this time you just need the bios and ec upgrade to Vista.
Good luck,

I just noticed that you never did say if your your touchscreen worked or not...just that it was not in your BIOS ??
No hdd found in XP...sounds to me like you are using a cheap 2 line external cd/dvd. It will work in W7 but it will not work in XP. You will need to use a Panasonic 1 line external cd/dvd drive. This has happen to me...no hdd found. -

I try to read every word. My apologies. Someone has the Vista upgrade.
If I am distracted...the neighbor just imported a bunch of cows and calves and they are trying to go home. Presently 1/2 mile north of my casa standing in the middle of the road. (County luckily) They're just confused. -
So where are the cows imported from? Hopefully not Brazil or Australia...Long swim.
All kidding aside, That's actually kind of sad... -
Nah they're valley cows and haven't found the water holes yet. They did find the hole in the fence.
The sad part is the cow boss has a broke down trailer full of saddle horses in Garberville. She promised to be here as quick as they get the axle fixed.
Meanwhile the cows are keeping the fire danger down. 4WD weed whackers. They're in a good place for now. Plenty of water and feed. -
That's good to hear, except for the axle issues.....
Yep a few head of cattle can clean up a field in no time...
Why don't you go and ride the horses back? -
what are cows called in NW montana ?
"slow elk" . -
I have cattle (mother cows.... acting like elk/deer....pot growers are eating (shooting) their calves. The girls (cows) see a human and sellout....not normal.
My apologies to OP...what did you need?(Original Poster) Sorry.

I would like to know why bios has no option for touch screen. Will it work if I install all drivers in Windows XP?

Let's back up a bit.
Where did you get this CF19?.. Ebay?.
Did the touchscreen ever work for you?
What caused to touchscreen to stop working if it did work for you?
It's likely this unit has a hardware problem..
It is possible the touchscreen board is bad, disconnected or even missing.
You could have a blown fuse on the motherboard or a bad cable going up to the screen...
Any of those problems would cause the touchscreen to not show up in the bios.. -
no offense meant ...
we had a lot of problems with out of state hunters bagging a bovine .
my great uncle lost many cattle to those guys .
back to the thread .
"You could have a blown fuse on the motherboard or a bad cable going up to the screen..."
does the OP have a schematic and manual ? -
I will check a fuse, and all touch screen components

You still haven't answered the most basic question:
-
I'm done with this thread until I see that question answered.. Without any info, We can't help...
-
I answered these questions at the beginning of this topic, I got this laptop from ebay and have no idea if touch screen ever worked, I thought that all cf19 come with touch screen in some sort, does it not? I checked motherboard and there is not fuse, unless is somewhere hidden so I can't see.
-
the fuse is very tiny..about 1/8 inch square..
You have a hardware problem....
You can contact the seller and see if he will work something out. Otherwise I suggest getting the service manual and a multimeter...
here are the schematics

One reason maybe why your touchscreen was not working in W7 was because your BIOS (v1.00L14) was not upgraded to the Vista Bios update (V1.01L16) ...see below. You will need this to get your touchscreen to work in W7 . In XP you do not need it.

I just checked fuses and all 3 are working, I also open the screen and looks like cables and ts module hasn't been tempered with. I will remove a screen and test it on my cf18 to check if ts is working.

Don't worry about part sources yet.
The bad fuse is a bit of a long shot....Other hardware issues are more probable. But you have to start somewhere.
A bad touchscreen or broken cable is more than likely the problem....
You can check the cable by testing each wire individually... -
The touch panel has four elements ....you should have continuity between 1 and 3 and also between 2 and 4.
Unplug the FPC cable and roll it back , maybe hold it with forceps to keep it from jumping around. When connecting, tape it down good.
Vista bios for W7.
L14 for XP.
Look under hid in device manager.
One Fujitsu line = XP bios and the computer sees the TSPCB. (Touchscreen power control board in the screen)
Two hid lines = Vista bios and the computer sees the TSPCB.
No hid device means computer can not see the TSPCB. (fuse or broken wire around the mast. IMHE (experience)
If I am repeating something from above it's cause I just got back online after a glitch and did not read the whole thread.Shawn likes this. -
I have scanned the the cables and all seams ok, I managed to install xp on it, had to implement sata drivers to installation
I will check the bios again but first need to replace lcd wires as when I tried to scan a touch screen cables I pulled lcd cables and 4 of them torn, luckly I have a spare
-
Hi some times xp looks for a dos or win 95 format on C:\| hdd and wont see NTFS or sata drive unless you install the drivers , or you could make a Bartwin pe usb drive to get the format right,....... might work.
