Hello i was trying to reuse an old cf28 without monitor, i was wondering which resolution will support the external video ? And if i connect a monitor to the back vga port, it will work immediately or should i set something on bios ? And will the pc work whitout the orignal keyboard but with an external usb kb ?

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/213151-using-external-monitor-cf-28-a.html

Here are a few things to try, I ran across it trying to see if the external monitor could go higher than the factory screen max of 1024 x 768

    CF-28M (Mk1) -- Silicon Motion 710 - 4MB VRAM

    CF-28P (Mk2) -- IntelĀ® 830M - Unified Memory Access (UMA) up to 32MB

    CF-28S (Mk3) -- IntelĀ® 830MG -- UMA up to 32MB

These are the graphic cards in the CF-28.

If memory serves me correct there use to be a hack for this to let it go up to a higher resolution but I am not sure if it was available for the 830, I know it was around for the 915 chipset/graphics. (Hack the ini file for windows)(if you have a linux live cd/dvd I don't think it is limited to 1024 x 768)
