I recently got a cf 29 that is missing the cover plate under the keyboard. I'm putting it together for my grandson not resale. Has any one tried fabricating one out of sheet metal and sealing with silicone caulk or RTV. After pricing them on ebay .I'm leaning towards trying this at least temporarily till I get it up and running and maybe permanently if it functions properly. Any in site would be appreciated.
edit: BTW I would be the only one working on it if it needed anything

    That would work

The savings on buying a toughbook missing parts are not so great when the individual missing parts prices + shipping is factored in lol

The only item that would be missing is the extra support brace

The part is only like $15.... I wouldn't jury rig a nice machine to save a few bucks.... You'd never get the seal you needed and it would look like crap.
