Which CF29 versions and/or configurations should be avoided, if any? I'm seeing more CF29's come up for sale here in Ozzie land so I'm looking to replace my mk 2 cf28 with a 29, perhaps a Mk 5 if one appears with a good config at a decent price. Three recently have shown up all with prices around A$900 for a similar spec (1 gb ram, 80 gb hd, no touchscreen, dvd-rw, integrated wifi, etc.). One was a mk5, one of the current ones I saw is a mk 3 or 4.

    Thanks, craig.

The MK4/5 are your best bet, they utilize DDR2 ram so its cheaper to upgrade plus you get the 1.6GHz processor. I've had lousy luck with the MK2 models screens, they seem to always have dead pixels and burn spots, Almost every MK1 and MK3 I've had had been good, the MK3 and up also has dual USB slots 2.0, the MK1/2 only has one

Thankyou. I've located a good Mk5 with a brand new 160 gb Samsung HD which I'm bidding on. It will replace this 800 mhz cf28 and I might turn the CF28 into a Linux machine.
