i know, i know.....there is a lot of information on the touchscreen not working correctly. boy tell me, have read a lot and tried many. here is my problem and am hoping to get pointed in the right dirrection.
i ended up with a malware problem (up until then the touchscreen was perfect). i had to end up formating the hard drive and reloading windows xp. loaded all the drivers, but the touchscreen isnt right. when you touch the screen the curser goes to the bottom, directly beneath where it was. not to the lower right as some folks have had.....dont matter where you put it on the screen, it goes just about straight down. any ideas? thanks

The Drivers List of Official Support Download Center | TOUGHBOOK | Panasonic
Did your drivers come from here or the Canadian site or did you use a Panasonic System Restore Disk?
Expand "Mice and other Pointing Devices" in Device Manager and tell me the name of the two files.
Thanks,

Is funny, I got my second CF-29 two weeks ago, love it, tried to see what was on it (as in maybe a TS), nope, then last week I found it did indeed come with a TS! Cool, set up, got it working fine (except at the edges when I want to scroll down as I do with my other 29), go reading through a couple threads on here, found the one about the cursor going right to the bottom of the screen, next thing you know, mine started doing it as well!!!! Keep getting the stupid parameter error when trying to calibrate it again, baffles the heck out of me. So ya, I'll be following this thread, no reason why it'd suddenly act up for no reason.

I intend to:
1.eliminate drivers as an issue.
2.advise to re-seat cables under keyboard.
3.tell him and you that you have a bad TS.
I would start with #3 if I didn't have the parameter message while setting up a new (0 hour) CF-19 yesterday. I was using the wrong driver.

That's why you can plug in a PS/2 mouse and use them (touchpad, touchscreen & mouse) concurrently. -
What he said.
You should have 15 drivers starting with calwin.exe......or at least my fresh install on a mk2 (TODAY) has 15.
Now if you pick up a CF-19 ...look in mice you will find touchpad/touchscreen but in that case (cf-19) the driver is for the "touchpad". Annnd the Touchscreen in under HID. Human Interface Devices annnnnd is a USB Touchpanel.
SO how many drivers do you show? IOW did it load correctly?

does everything sem right? thanks -
Seems right.
It seems you have a bad/open connection in the touch element. I would have stated this sooner except for (see post 7). Eliminate the plugs as an issue by re-seating several times (use a little canned air) to eliminate corrosion as a factor. This would be under the keyboard.
Bad TS is very very common in the older books, reputed to be an adhesive issue. The H models were worked hard. Don't hold it against them.
Three options.
1. Find a working upper half and swap.
2. Replace the touch panel with a new one. (my favorite)
3. Get the panel repaired.
