cfm34 mk3 512mb ram?

hey guys,i saw rob has a 700mhz mk3 with 512mb ram?is that right?sorry but i need a few more posts b4 i can pm him.any ideas how that is accomplished?

 

not a toughbook specific answer, but what chipset and how many RAM slots does the cfm34 mk3 have?

 

it has the 82443mx100 chipset and one slot for ram,but there is a onboard slot that is currently unused.currently it only has the removable ram

 

My M34 only has 256MB in it... not 512, and it is one stick of 256MB double chipped (8x each side) PC 133 RAM

I probably should change my sig lol... OOOPS :/

 

You know what... I better check... I'm pretty d@mn sure that it has 256 in it, but I don't know why I would have put that it has 512 in my signature, and I wouldn't lie about something like that... I'll check tonight when I get home from work and I'll PM you. Sorry for the confusion

 

The 700mhz m34 has a max. of only 512mb of ram only for those unit that has 256mb on board but only a few of them as I remember mostly none. So, it means that if you have no onboard memory your max. is only 256mb even if you installed 512 it will read only 256. The 866mhz and 933mhz has max. of 768mb and the 1.0ghz centrino has a max. of 1.28gb of ram.

thanks guys!jb....let me know id be real curios.i know a select later mk3 had 256mb on board and a slot for another 256.my do not.i think ill add it to the mb and see what she'll do.i have a mk5 and a mk6 with the 866 and 933 p3's.they are both running 768mb.at the risk of sounding like a maroon that is hellbent on the undo-able............from what i can gather its that 82443mx100 chipset that is limiting it.any ideas how to upgrade/mod the chipset firmware?i even went as far as to consider someway to adapt the ram to a single ddr 512mb.i have a whole lot of these 700mhz units so i will have to figure out something.
