Hi all
I installed windows xp on my panasonic t5, but I cannot get the circular scrolling to work. Previously it had vista business, where it worked great and I miss it. I even got it working under ubuntu, just not windows xp.
I have installed the newest synaptics driver.
Has anyone else already solved this?

The solution was to install the "touch pad utility application" available here

Hey Hugo,
How did you get the circular scrolling working in Linux? Is it Ubuntu specific?
I've been playing about with Mandriva live and I like it (Compiz and wireless working out of the box) but I really like the circular scrolling and would miss it unduly.

circular scrolling is already implemented in the standard linux synaptics driver, and afaik it does not even depend on the shape of the touchpad. You just have to enable the setting in the driver.
the main setting is called circularScrolling, there are also several other options starting with circular, to finetune it.
The setting TapButton2 is also interesting for two finger taps
here is the man page for the synaptics driver
http://linux.die.net/man/5/synaptics
Configuring the driver settings just right was a bit annoying, there are also some gui programs for ubuntu, but not very good ones.
as I remember it scrolling under linux seemed smoother than windows.
under windows the smallest scroll increment seems to be a few cm, so when scrolling very slowly it scrolls a few cm, then stops, then starts again.
And when scrolling very quickly, the page will not move fast enough to keep up with the finger movement, but will keep scrolling for a few seconds after I stopped moving.
Maybe I am misremembering it, but I do not think I had these problems under linux. And I definitely did not have them with the standard synaptics vertical scolling. Is there a way to improve that?
