So from what I've read in the 29 FAQ it would appear the 29 does not need the inverter the 28 had is that accurate ? I installed a 3 ribbon emissive keyboard on my CF-29HTM50BM and I tried the 3rd ribbon up and then turned it over and still nothing so what have I missed ?![]()

The cf-28 emissive keyboard is not compatable in the cf-29 series

 Correct, the keyboard made for the 29 works on low voltage. The emissive chicklet keyboard for the 28 needs a special high voltage board.
Sounds like you did it right. The 3rd ribbon cable, the narrow one with only 2 conductors, must be folded over so it goes into the connector upside down. Check the power to the backlight connector, it should be about 3.5 ~ 5 volts DC and vary when you press the Fn+F12 keys. -
