which toughbooks are fanless and have or can take 2GB RAM?

lowest price first, and "old" is fine

    A few CF-29 models can handle 2 GB memory. Also CF-19, CF-30, CF-31 and CF-74.

Do I win the prize? <ding-ding-ding>

    ... I know a 29 is fanless, but limited to onboard+1gb ram.

I know a CF19 is fanless, and newer marks can take 2gb+. Oldest? dunno.

    *EDIT*
    @Springfield: mk4 and mk5 can take +2gb? or is it just mk5?

    CF-18, CF-19, CF-29, CF-30 are fanless. CF-31 has a fan.

    CF-29 Mk4 & Mk5 with 256mb onboard memory can take 2gb memory.

    All CF-19, CF-30 can take 2 2gb modules.

Also, some business class TB's are fanless. CF-T5 for sure.

Only the 1.6 GHz models with 256MB on-board can take a 2GB memory stick. I know these are found as Mk4 e.g. CF-29L3LGxBM. Azrial did the initial discovery on a Mk5 CF-29N.

Didn't see the fanless part - guess that disqualified CF-31 and CF-74.

Did you want only the fully rugged models? IF not the CF-T5 or CF-W5 both are small, light weight, fanless and come in single and dual cores. It shows that 1.5gb is the max on ram but I have seen pictures of 2gb in the bios on some before, just unconfirmed.

rugged is unnecessary and increases the price unnecessarily..

thanks for letting me know about those two non rugged ones.. I hope they can take 2GB..I see they both mentioned in their spec as about 1536MB.. but I did see one reviewed as 1.5GB/2GB

Don't forget those "rare bear" CF-29 models which came with 1GB onboard (fixed) memory: they can take a 1GB SODIMM to top the memory at 2GB total.

One thing to note about the CF-T5, and probably W5 and Y5 also, is that it uses a microDIMM. It also has 512mb onboard memory so, is limited to 1.5gb total.

I have seen some T-5's on ebay with 2gb showing in the bios. I don't know if putting in a 2gb stick would do the trick on them as I didn't win the auction to see. That is why I said un-confirmed. Discussing the CF-Y5 with another member that one has a fan.

Here is the link on it, and the ebay links listed on that page can still be viewed showing the 2gb of ram.
