    Andy,

Welcome to the forum. Please start by reading the stickies at the top of the forum. The CF-29FAQ has info in it that will also help you. You can order parts from www.heartlandsi.com... You'll have to call them with the part number that you need... Which means you'll need a service manual. If you post your exact model number we may be able to help more. It will look like CF-18XXXXXXX.... You can find it in the BIOS or the bottom of the laptop.

    I will answer that question
You need a external usb optical drive
The toughbook has the option to boot to cd drive first to reload your operating system

Get the restore disks, there is so much more on there than just xp and loading drivers!!!! Its got much better tablet functions and it made the buttons on the outside of the unit work too!!!

In the interest of accuracy. There is nothing on the restore disks which cannot be loaded from an OEM XP disk or downloaded from several Panasonic sites. That includes all of the drivers needed to get all of the buttons and screen rotation working properly.
