I am guessing this is the same one you had the problem with back almost a year ago ? I think you need to get a external dvd to do the installation and forget the USB. I never had any luck with the USB. Only good for loading drivers. What you need is the restore disk. Sometimes it's the only way to go.

    i live in france :d

with the same method, I installed several toughbook, CF 19, CF 74, windows installation USB key and with drivers loaded with external floppy drive, I think the drivers on the website panasonic are not good, it is for why I'm stuck,
the problem is that I work in the automotive electronics and have many applications that only runs on XP,

These drivers have been on there Web site for some time now and if they were bad I think panasonic would of fixed them by now. Have you tried another version of windows XP ( SP1, SP2 or SP3 ) . Better question is what edition are you using...XP or XP Pro.
Also I helped a guy a few years with the same problem. Come to find out the XP disk he was using he downloaded it from a ..... well let's just say he downloaded it for free. NO... I am not saying this is what happened. I am just trying to figure out what is going on with your install.

I believe what Shawn is saying is if your time is worth anything, say 5 Euros/Hour, you will be way ahead monetarily and far less stressed out if you get a restore disc.

for me the time or the money is not important,
the important thing is how to settle my problem and understand how it works? and I prefer not to buy a ready solution already,

Before spending any money on a restore disk do you have a external dvd ? Some cheap ones from China do not work. I would try one first. Toughbooks are picky when it comes to them.

you're right, I'll try with a cd xp sp2 original, a friend will lend me, and I will do it with an external DVD drive to eliminate this probability,
thank you to you all for your answers, you feel less alone here,

If you still have that 19 or 74? If so load the basic XP install on to the T8 drive inside the 19/74 then pull it after it loads and drop it into the T8 to load the drivers. I haven't done XP yet, but on every T8 I have had I had had to do that to get it all to load. The T8 so far is the only Toughbook that won't take my Samsung usb DVD drive (besides a couple of M34 models)

    I return with good news;
I managed to install xp on my CF-T8
    this is what I did:
    - At the beginning I tried with a copy of my original cd xp sp3
with an external cd player, drivers floppy disk drive: it does not work, error message
with CD copied to USB key: some error

a friend lent me a cd xp sp3, this is not an original: d
I copied the CDs on USB key, installation goes as a letter in the post office, good,!!

So ultimately it was a problem cd !! But I have already been able to install a CF19 and CF74 2 with this CD, I do not understand anything,

I thank you all for your contribution and your answers,

Glad you got it running. Why you were getting that error...good question but I can tell you if you were to use a Panasonic CD drive you will not get it. This has happen to me on my 18 and 19.
