how much ram can a CF-C1 take? and what options are important

i was thinking about buying a CF-C1 and i hear people saying its 6,8,12 or 16 but i cant find a definitive answer. i know you have to take some of the laptop apart to get to the 2nd stick but if i took it all apart what is the max amount of memory i can put in one? also apparently there are 2 different screens one being the Gloved multi touch and the other being multi touch + digitizer. do they both have the pen and when it comes to daily use like browsing and drawing which screen is better and how can i tell them apart.
also is there anything i should look out for besides locked bioses
i have no idea what im doing and im trying to learn as fast as possible so i dont get the crap scammed out of me.

4GB minimum with 64 bit OS, 8GB better if affordable for today's needs. For average users, running average software.

 

If the seller list the full model number you should be able to look what the model had when it left the factor here. http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/ . Make sure when putting in the model number it's all capital letters or it will not work.

Gen 2 (MK2) CF-CB????? or CF-CL?????

 

Taking apart a CF-C1 is a sob of a job, I have had bunches of them. Put a solid state drive in it and it will run great, better yet get a C2 if you can, screaming fast with 8gb and a SSD.

It probably has a 4 gb stick already and you can drop another 4 in easy. They tend to overheat and crack the palmrest just to the left of the mouse pad. Look very closely at the photos.

 

If you see 12GB listed as the max for a MK2, the real max is probably 16GB but the unit originally came with a 4GB internal stick, which is a huge ordeal to change, so instead of disassembling the laptop to put an 8GB stick in there, the seller just puts 8GB in the upgrade slot and calls 12GB the max. This is what we do. I think we would accommodate a request for 16GB if the customer really needed it, but I would have to ask the technicians.

 

It's such a pita to do for the average guy but the tech could do it quicker. I just don't think it's worth it on a C1, they are not that great of a unit.

The C2 just blows them away in build quality.
