gays, I found another dealer for CF-19 Mk6 and offer to face to face transaction. So like the title how or which part should i check to confirm that device should be deal?

Last time, I know that toughbook's bios password can not be wipe and without the password can not install other part like GPS, wwlan, fingerprint reader by ourselves. So any hits for the deal check?

On face to face transaction have the seller start the computer and hit [F2} If bios opens you can check specifications....ram, hdd and hours. On CF-30 and 31 look for DVD. If this is on battery you checked that too. :D
The point is "if the bios opens there is no password". Bios passwords are NOT your friend.

Well good question since there is no "Kelly Book'' for Toughbooks like cars. You just have to look around at the going rate for that model.

How many hours on the mk6?
Does it have a digitizer or is it a touchscreen?

Tell the seller you need to see a photo of this screen from the BIOS.

    It is a mk6
    4000 hours is not bad.
Does it come with Windows 7? If it does not, you will have to get that somewhere else.
From what I have seen on Ebay, $890USD is a fair price. Not the best and not the worst.

From the factory, that model had this

    Model Number: CF-191HYAX1M
    Status: DISCONTINUED
    MSRP: $3,629
Description: Win7, Intel Core i5-3320M 2.60GHz, vPro, 10.1" XGA Touch, 500GB(7200rpm), 4GB, Intel WiFi a/b/g/n, TPM, Bluetooth, 56k Modem (RJ11), No Drive, Toughbook Preferred

good to know that. I think that's seller or the oringinal owner add on it. but the seller say that has the original digitizer pen, so it comes up a problem: if the original model refer to Shawn post, it should not have the digitizer pen's "hold"(that pen insert place, sorry that i don't know how it call) ?

    No drive means optical drive.

It has a stylus for the touchscreen. Many people do not know the difference between a touchscreen and a digitizer. They think that they are the same thing. So they call the stylus a digitizer pen.

Hole size for pen is the same on a mk4 for touch and dual touch. Pretty sure mk3 holes are the same also.
They changed the hole sizes when they changed to the newer pen. Mk3 and later??

That makes it very difficult to find a bargain dual touch.

Now on my CF-19MK5 the Configure

    Model Number : CF-19ADUAX1M
    Status : DISCONTINUED
    MSRP : $3,829
Description: Win7, Intel Core i5-2520M 2.50GHz, vPro, 10.1" XGA Dual Touch, 320GB(7200rpm), 4GB, Intel WiFi a/b/g/n, TPM, Bluetooth, Dual Pass (Upper:WWAN/Lower:WLAN), No Drive, Toughbook Preferred

The problem with a lot of Toughbook sellers is they don't know what they have in front of them. I bought a 19MK2 3-4 years ago for $45.00 shipped because the touchscreen was not working. When I got it and looked at it....the reason the touchscreen did not work was because it was a digitizer screen and he was using a stylus pen which was in the hole.
I think this seller does not know the difference between a touchscreen or a digitizer screen.

better information is obtained by googling "passive vs active stylus" .

the term "stylus" can be thought to mean "pointy/skinny long object" ...
    a toothpick , a piece of twig , a pencil , a nail , etc , can be a stylus if used as such .
it is like the term "cup" ... a small device for containing/holding a liquid or dry substance .
there are many objects that fit that definition .

Button on the side of pointy stick is a digitizer pen.
No button on side of pointy stick is a touchscreen stylus.

Still doesn't mean they did not stick the wrong pen / stylus in the slot.

The model in question was factory touchscreen and NO digitizer.
That makes it about a 95% chance it is still touchscreen only.
Dual touch models seem to cost at least 25% more than touch only models.

Yes but it's not cheap. It would be much cheaper to buy one that way. Myself I like the dual touch much better.

yep ... it is expensive .
the last digitizer i had to replace (the backplane array and electronics) cost around $400 .
it was an insurance job on a "specialized" company laptop ...
if it had been a "normal" customer , i am certain that it would have not been repaired .

i cannot see a big advantage of a digitizer over a resistive or holographic (light source around the edges) screen .

2 ways to add digitizer to touch only.
    1) Get digitizer panel and dual touch harness. Get digitizer PCB. Then completely disassemble lcd half of CF19 to add parts. The wiring around hinge is very tricky.
    2) Buy another CF19 with dual touch. Change entire top half.
