yeap i did, it took me a while to figure out what was hanging it up

Makes you wonder if there are other updates that are affecting the performance of our Toughbooks and how we can identify them.
-
Thanks for the heads up Boo Boo
It's a good idea to check the performance tab in device manager from time to time to see if you processor is running at a high rate ,at idle
I killed a netbook this spring with the net framework v3.5 , and went back to v2
V3.5 created processes running in the background that slowed the slow already netbook to a crawl by pegging the processor -
only drawback is you can't tell thats what causing the issue. it took me going through 25 updates to figure it out. only noticed it on a dell laptop than i updated moms netbook it did the same thing.
than did trial and error -
That and silverlight had me reinstalling vista 64 on my moms tower cause shortly after all the admin profiles lost their admin abilities to uninstall it or anything. even ccleaner epic failed trying to uninstall.
-
When I ran into issues, it was just after install v3.5 , so I new that was the issue
I noticed it was slow without looking in the task manager -
Hmmm sounds like I need to uninstall 3.5 and silver light and we will see what happens.

seven forums said silverlight was a interactive feature most sites aren't even using. One site mentioned that does utilize it was the British museum or something. They classed it as M$ adobe flasplayer. When I swap back to the XP HDD it's gonna be nip tuck. Those updates made my touch pad/touchscreen/wireless mouse laggy and unresponsive on W7. Swipe and 7 seconds later the pointer moved. drove me crazy trying to figure out caused this. was anyone else freaked out when .net in the beginning made that random user account?
if you are running xp dont install KB982670 (net framework)
