Are you sure it has bluetooth, factory bluetooth is rare. Or did you have external usb bluetooth?

Are you looking for just a regular card or a superpower-full card? I used these in the CF-28's I fixed up for my kids.

This is the basic set up I used. It worked well. Now on the antenna you may want to do something different as you will have to decide how you want to mount this one.

ador- id quite like a reasonable wifi card doesnt need to state of the art but at the same time dont want it to be like a 56k modem lol what are them cards like and does the internal aerial work ok. just didnt see the point of fitting another one as it already has a pull out one fitted, and yes its a factory fit bluetooth as it was an ex AA laptop.

toughasnails- cheers for that once i get my wifi sorted ill update my windows

Ok, I didn't realize you had factory wi-fi. I have two of these with the factory wi-fi it's the 350 cisco. Do you still have your factory wi-fi card in there? It's a PCMCIA card. Turn your CF-28 over and pull out the harddrive caddy. There is a hidden PCMCIA slot under there where your factory wi-fi card is at.

The links I had listed were so you could install mini-pci wi-fi card. I didn't know you had factory wi-fi. If you don't mind what is your full model # CF-28????? so we can see everything you have. I used those cards in my kids CF-28 before I upgraded them. They work fine and pick up signal good. For best signal you would need to route the antenna differently than I did. They used them in the house so I just had the antenna rolled up under the battery.

Here is you some homework, lol.

By the model number it shows 350 Cisco, you can use that card you ordered but unless you mod the antenna you can't use the factory antenna. still not sure about your bluetooth though.

The big question is where do you plan on putting them.

Did you upgrade to Windows XP SP2 ??

Not daft, you just have to remember that Toughbooks are a different animal. They have a magnesium case that does not lend itself well to an internal antenna (think tin foil hat :D ). It does work, it is just a little limited on range. If you mod the existing whip antenna to work with the new card it works well. What I did was order a set of paddle style antennas and cut the end off one and soldered it in place of the blue factory lead right at the pass-through board. I did use the second paddle antenna, but I don't think it really does anything compared to the factory whip.

Go into device manage and on the unknown device right click and go to properties. There should be 4 tabs on the next window. Got to the details tab and look at the info or code that is put there. You can put it here and then Google it to figure out what it is. If that doesn't try this to figure out what it is.

If the machine shipped with the Cisco card you actually can use the factory antenna on the display.
