ive always been curious of the MP battery, peering through a slit on the bottom is another warning label... well, one of my packs has gone bad, so...

2 screws later and encased in foam is a........ CF-VZSU14B (11.1v 3.6ah)battery clipped to an adaptor - a quick google shows this as being a main battery for a CF72

I already have a replacement for this pack, so some lazy sunday Ill prise it open and see if the cells are a nice easy swap, what sort of controller chip does panasonic like to use? and does it flip out if you remove all load from it?

I found out the CF-72 batteries arent really any cheaper than the CF-29 main batteries, I guess cell swapping might be the only cost effective way to go, unless someone has found a dirt cheap solution

And the crowd once again jacks the price on a Toughbook part. Seriously though, good find, I took one apart a while ago and never even noticed it was a stand alone battery in its own right. I also have 2 dead ones and will be looking for a steal on CF-72 batteries. The ones in my dead MB packs are green tab for what its worth.

Kinda looks like these guys Panasonic CF-72 Laptop Battery CF-VZSU14 pop new cells in it... anybody ever tried that? Or, if some chip needs reprogramming, maybe they have the secret sauce...
