I have a webcam with 6pin cable from another computer, and would like to see if it works in CF-31 mk1. Does the keyboard have double-sided tape or another means of getting it loose to look for 6-pin header? Or does anyone already know if there is a header that can be used for this purpose under the keyboard?

The 6 pin header will be inside the lid on touchscreen pcb.
It is a 7 pin connector.Last edited: Dec 10, 2015 -
Thanks Shawn. As you said, the header is 7 pin. So now I just have to find a 7 pin webcam. Off to eBay!
Hopefully this one will work:

does the cf-30 have internal usb connectors to allow a web camera to be installed in the display bezel? -
We were talking about a CF31.
All modern Toughbooks have internal usb connectors.
You could modify any usb webcam to work. Panasonic never offered a webcam on a CF30. Sp there is NO stock webcam connector on a CF30. -
Sorry to take so long posting back. The Toshiba webcam did not just plug in. Although it is 7 pin, the width and thickness of the plug was not right. I guess I could just remove the plug and push the connectors individually down on the header pins. Does anyone know the pin-out of the CF-31's USB header?

I bet @ohlip (Teo) would know it.

I have been meaning to do some research on the webcam header. It will involve the pcb and my micro video camera setup. Probably need a multimeter also.
It just has not made it up the list to #1 yet.
install webcam in CF-31?
