As great as the cf-29 is, it would be great if I could buy a micro mini gps module and install it into my cf-29. I did a search did not come up with anything so asking here. I did read it was done on another model but nothing on the cf-29. The two back bumpers at the top of the lid with the latch in between these bumpers would make great mounting spots for the web cam and or gps antenna.

Has anyone ever done a writeup integrating these two modifications?

    Thanks much

Do you mean a corner cover like this :D

    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/716/tbgpscover29b.jpg/

I am just finishing up our GPS kit for CF-29, CF-18, CF-19, and CF-30. I don't intend to sell the covers separately but will make exception if its for NBR members personal unit. $15 inc. shipping.

    later.

    Beautiful; BUT ....

....WHY did you design it for the left side instead of the right??? :confused2:

I would be very interested in such a kit for my CF-29; but not  at the expense of losing my Wireless Broadband (the antenna on the left when viewed from the screen open side).

Good point. The corner piece looks VERY cool... VERY professional. Is it made out of the same stuff as OEM?

The physical dimensions behind the corner covers are different on each corner on the cf-29 and the right side let us design a lower profile corner cover, so if we do on the left side the "bump" will stick out far more to accommodate our GPS module, but after the feedback received it seems a cover for the left side will be well received even if it does stick out more...

    thanks for your comments boys.

Ummm... strike that, reverse it. We wanted a cap for the right side, so we could KEEP the WWAN on the left.

    :D

Not that left. Your other left.

What do you think of our CF18/19 and CF-30 covers ?

We made CF-18/19 a little wider and it still fits like like a glove I figure some of you
might also want to put in bluetooth, biometric eye scanner or something ;)

The sirf 4 module we are using kicks -ss... I intend to make a youtube video comparing original panasonic GPS, maybe custom-toughbooks :) and ours side by side.

Ador, some of us (myself included) are older, and I did not want be responsible for any accidents due to over-excitement so
I figured its safer to do it in small doses ! lol

That would depend on your "point of view." ;)

Mine was from the screen side: from the lid side the sides would indeed be "reversed."
