Hello all,
I've got a somewhat tempermental usb port (the one on the side, next to the power adapter socket) on my cf30 mkiii. I'll have the usb stick in, but if I look crosseyed at it, it loses connection. Any advice? Of course I've got two more ports in the back, but they're less convenient. Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you certain the stick is not the problem, I have a iffy usb port, I clean it now and then with a q-tip and a tiny bit of mentholated spirit.

Thanks, but yes, it's the port: any and all sticks have the same issue, but only in that port.

On my notebook the left side usb ports are soldered to the motherboard, the right side port is a the end of a cable, maybe the cable has a poor connection.
Have a look inside the port, compare it to other working ports to see if anything looks wrong.
