When I had Windows 7 on mine I let windows install the drivers, the only thing that I did not have working was the touch screen, but I rarely use it anyway so it was not a problem.

    Try this for the touchscreen:
Touch Panel Driver Software : Fujitsu United States

Try installing the LAN and audio drivers in compatibility mode for Windows XP (right click setup.exe, select properties>compatibility) and run the setup.exe as Administrator(right click, run as).

Have you tried manually installing the drivers through Device Manager? If you are still having problems and you only have a exe file to work with download universal extractor.

    Universal Extractor | LegRoom.net

This breaks down the exe file too it's main components and you can get to them to manually install through device manager then. It's also handy if you know of some programs you like and don't like the trash that comes with them.

tried all of the above...universal extractor wouldnt work worth a lick. found a webresource that pointed me in the direction of 7-zip, used it to unarchive the exe files and it worked like a champ on everything except the LAN. now i just need to figure the LAN driver situation out and get the wired internet workin...may actually just skip it and install an aftermarket wifi...
thanks for the help though, fellas...

that's strange that windows would not find the drivers for it? Even xp will install most of the drivers except maybe touchscreen and Win 7 is even better at finding drivers for stuff.

After all that you may have a bad LAN card or one that is not connected correctly.

which is weird, because it was working fine on xp...i may have a short term fix till i can gather the cash to just do an internal wireless upgrade, i have a usb wireless dongle i had used on my hp mini 110 for my hackintosh...i may use that temporarily. now ive looked on the forums and see that many people have removed the modem and lan ports in favor of wifi...has anyone added usb ports?

Read the Cf-28 & CF-29 FAQs and The Ultimate ToughBook Resource Thread stickied to the top of the forum; most of your answers (or links to them) are right in the first few pages.

The USB thing is a bit involved. To find the many threads on the subject, I suggest you copy this string: ake usb site:forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic into your Google search and read the first 10 hits or so that come up; find the beginnings of the threads and follow them out.

Glad to help. The donation button is at the bottom left corner of my post; it looks like a little set of balance scales. ;)
