got my m34 mk6 this morning from the usa, it looks well used but was described as cosmetically poor so no problem. described as hard drive missing so i opened it up its got the caddy, inside the caddy all the cable and heater which is more than i was expecting ! , just pulling it to pieces so i can swap the casing off my unmarked mk3, looks the same so far

the cf48 was expertly packaged, extremely clean, and works great.....

night and day difference between this seller and the last one...gonna leave positive feedback AFTER the warranty period expires..

I got the 256 mb ram.....384 max..............because frankly don't do anything complicated with this machine...

my last machine was roughly 1.5 ghz and 1 gig...........this one is noticeably slower.......

I've got the adblock on....what other tweaks are suggested to speed up the machine

900 mhz, 256 mb ram......10 gig hard drive... yep ten gigs..windows xp

here is a couple pictures of a 28 and a 72 i recently did, i had to order special 30" sma cables to get the wifi installed on lid on the 28, but it works great with a intel pro/set wifi card. the finish is hammered copper, and "faux" grannite on the 72

Some of the first CF-28s that I built had that same antenna in the same place. A lot of them broke off. It may woork well... But unless you unscrew it... It's a bad idea. I'd almost bet you could retrofit a CF-28 RIM antenna into that laptop. That would be unbreakable!

I have had dozens of cf-72's
The mk-5 unit that I have now has the standard pull-out wi-fi antenna which is quite rare
Not great reception, even after upgrading the old cisco card
But it is industructable as it bends easy
That setup might have better reception, and if it stays on a desk mostly it might be ok

I provided the pictures, but they are of painter12‘s cf-72 lol

I have one cf-72 and it looks just like an ordinary Toughbook

Silver Trooper’s post #35 paint scheme is my preference

But Painter12’s theme of granite might make sense as our toughbooks are definitely heavy
