My "B" key on my keyboard has a tear on all 3 sides. Does anyone have a "fix" for this or should I just replace the keyboard? I haven't had much luck locating a new keypad online and I really hate to dump a bunch of money on an older machine.

    Thanks

Very carefully glue it back together with black 100% silicone rubber from your local hardware store, use a toothpick to apply only a small amount on the torn edges.
Let it dry over night before using.

Gray-Beard is spot on... Make sure it is 100% silicone! Then I'd go even further and suggest a straight pin and a good 10X magnifying headset if you can get one (You can get them for under $10!) Apply a THIN coat on the inside and outside of the cracked areas. Move the keypad around until ALL the edges line up perfectly and then CAREFULLY wipe away the excess that oozes out of the crack.

Remove your battery then remove the keyboard.... This repair is MUCH easier to do if the keyboard is out of the laptop!

BUT... If you take your time and do this carefully.... Your repair will be almost undetectable and will wear as well as the original.

EXCELLENT! Thank you both. This approach is exactly what I was looking for.
