When using my cf27 Kodiak idock with my cf28 in my car I have a USB GPS plugged into the internal USB port it works fine but when I plug any thing else in the external Kodiak USB port it won’t recognize either one, I don't know if there is a conflict? Can you use both USB ports at the same time? For the idock do I have to install drivers? Both the devices will get power just not be recognized by windows XP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Don't triple post okay?

is there a power LED coming out of the iDock? Try installing drivers and see what happens, but windows should automatically find it. It might be faulty.

I would first check your power to the Kodiak. If it's not powering on, you might have issues.

Other than that though, I haven't finished mounting mine so I've got no idea if the USB on a 27 mount works with a 28 or not... I only really cared that I had someplace other than my seat to throw my toughbook :D

I have my USB GPS on the Kodiak USB port.and it works just fine.. In fact..I am thinking of putting a 4 port USB on it....
No drivers are needed for the iDock....its Plug & Go Play.... :D
    (And I am using a 27 iDock with a 28....)

Check the docking connector on the kodiak those are notorious for having bent or broken pins during shipping. The connectors is always exposed and subject to damage. I prefer the Panasonic docks because the connector retracts and is protected by the housing around it when the laptop is undocked. Otherwise make sure you are powering the laptop through the dock and not from the laptops power input.
