    +1 for Lind. We have used them for years at work with only one failure that I am aware of. And I am really not sure how he literally melted the cigarette lighter plug-in portion. The brick still works fine after the plug was replaced.

    @ROAD HAMMMER

    What are the specs on the IBM adapter that works on the cf29,but not on the cf30

    I too have a box full of the IBM 22P9003 combo 12v/120v adapters
    I have not tried these 4.55a output units on my cf-30's as these inexpensive adapters my intended use for these was on the pdrc screens and cf-73's

    I use the IBM 22P9004 ,16V 4.55A, which work for all the 29,30,52.
    I love the slide cover :

    For those who do not know this particular IBM unit, the slide covers the AC & DC input sockets: the three-pin is the AC input, while the four-pin is for the 12V DC input.

    Mine have all three input plugs; AC, DC and Aircraft Seatback Power (which shares the DC cord & socket).

    Another thing on the IBM combo adapters
    If you are buying them used on ebay , around 80% are missing the dc cord
    You have to read the fine print
    TopCop's link has the required cords

    Question: What makes you think that the 72W IBM power adapter cannot run the unit and/or charge the internal battery of the CF-30 Toughbook? :confused:
