I ordered one of these enclosures online and installed a spare 120 GB Kingston mSSD.
Booted up a live usb with mx18 and installed the operating system onto the mSSD hard drive inside the enclosure.
Shut down properly the CF52 and pulled out the live usb.
Restarted the CF52 and she booted up the fresh install of mx18 on the mSSD.
Ran updates and quit to post.
Going to remove the mSSD drive from enclosure and install into a G1 and will report back.

    Morning update...
I removed the newly minted image in the miniature enclosure and installed into the G1...booted her up and voila...she’s a Linux Box now with touchscreen functionality...just need to resize the onboard keyboard for my Big fingers...stylus works great....
Not sure if this technique will work with windows

I just found this. I is supposed to move the windows install files to the "new" HDD and make the drive bootable. Then you pop the drive into the new PC and it boots and installs all from that HDD.
I have not tried it yet.
