Where can i find the manual for a CF-29HTM50BM ?

No offense meant but this and other simple questions are in the sticky at the top of the forum called "READ ME BEFORE POSTING"
It answers A LOT of of the usual questions about Toughbooks and keeps the forum a little more organized by cutting down on the "Where are the manuals?" and "How do install a driver?" questions.
A little reading goes a LONG way! -
i do have some questions:
I am thinking of removing the MDC modem, according to the manual it is connected to CN 32 on the motherboard.
That way, i can perhaps remove the phoneline connector and install a SMA connector there, since i do not like the u.FL connector that is used for a external wlan antenna.
Another option is to replace the u.fl connector and the phone line connectors with a SMA connectors if there is space enough to do that.
That way, it should be possible to install a aprs/tnc module and hook it up to a external antenna for the 2 meter band.
It looks to me like the ext ant. pcb is connected to wlan card antenna "A",
and wlan card connector "B" is connected to the KBD PCB.
The EXT ANT pcb is connected to a antenna pcb "A".
KBD PCB "B" is connected to antenna pcb "B".
Where is the coax from the external u.FL connector on the rear side connected ?
What happens if the external wlan antenna is shorted by a mistake ?
i know that most modern Ham radios has built in protection for bad SWR, but i dont know if that applies to high power wlan cards.
I will replace the internal wlan card with a EnGenius EMP-8602+s wlan card. -

Look on the back of your CF-29... Open the back port cover... Look for a brass "button"... Do you see it or do you see two round brass buttons stacked on top of each other?
All antennas are routed through the passthrough connector on the back of the Toughbook. Some have just the WLAN passing through to the dock.... Others, if so equipped, will have a double passthrough so both the WLAN AND the WWAN will pass through to the dock where external antennas can be used. -
I do know that it is a CF-29HTM50BM. -
Um... It will be a lot easier to understand all this when you actually HAVE a Toughbook in your hands. It's kind of like me asking you to appraise this diamond over here without seeing it.

The WWAN antenna pulls up from its recess in the LCD cover.
This photo is of the CF-29HTM50BM system you have coming.
Note the two black WLAN antenna covers and the WWAN antenna on the right (left, if the LCD was facing you). -

The WWAN antenna cable connects to a pc board mounted inside the case behind (and connected to) the brass antenna passthrough, next to the docking station connector. A second cable attaches to the pc board and terminates at the Cardbus area.
As Toughbook said this will make more sense when you can actually look at the machine. -
And then, there will no problem
manuals, manuals..
