Can anyone recommend a minipci ethernet card that can replace the modem card in a CF-27 L series. I realize that it will be a hack job to replace the RJ-11 jack with a RJ-45 jack but am willing to try.

I have seen mentioned that the Mini PCI slot in a CF-27 is either not fully implemented or too early a revision of the Mini PCI spec to work with an Ethernet card, the modem it about the only thing that it will recognise.

I've not tried it myself, I just used PCMCIA ethernet & WiFi cards.

Even some WiFi cards don't work, the ones I tried that stated min. 300MHz CPU did not work in my 300Mhz CF-27.. I ended up with a secondhand one that said it needed a 166MHz processor, and that worked.

As yours is one of the fast machines, you may have better luck!

    Robert.
