Figure i would ask this here: Where can I find a mini-PCI GPS board like this one:

MP-954GPS - Mini-PCI GPS Module from BVM Limited

they have to be easier to get then that.

I know you guys mod GPS all the time so I figured you could help me.

Also do you think a built in antenna designed for GOBI + GPS will be good enough, given a sirf III chip?

    thanks - Dominik

You might want to look carefully at that MCX antenna connection with regards to whether or not there is room to hook it up inside the computer. Others here have investigated that card and it has not turned out to be an optimum solution.

I might try this in a CF-28.... If it would fit.... Then you have the whole, "Where do I mount the antenna?" thing... Though I still think Teo's idea of using the CF-18/19 GPS bump-out on the CF-28 was a brilliant idea.... I think this is a very BAD idea for the CF-29/30/18/19 series...

    But that is just me....

Won't work in a Cf-28; you'd never be able to install the HDD caddy with that MMCX connector in the way. I suppose one could hacksolder a uFL connector there; but then you'd void yer warranty and at THAT price, I wouldn't wanna Dew it.

    Dewin' it.

To be honest this is not for a toughbook, it is for a thinkpad x201 (I can't afford a cf30).

This thinkpad has antennas build into the lid for WWAN and GPS, you usually upgrade it with a GOBI + GPS module.

I was investigating this as a better GPS solution then the GOBI+GPS module.

    thanks guys - Dominik

    HEY!

I have a 380XD that serves as my OBDII monitor; you're going to hurt its feelings!

Interesting point of fact: the 380XD is the first laptop ever made with a built-in subwoofer!
