I have a CF-27RA48BAM. I would like to know what kind of motherboard it is.
Who made it, model, etc. If there is some place to look for #'s .Or do I have to call Panasonic.

David,
Its a Panasonic mother board, made by Panasonic. The model # is CF-27 MK1. You really need to do some reading.

I'm sorry... I tried smoking a cigarette... Walking downstairs... Thinking about Trigonometry... Taking a drink... Smoking another cigarette...
And I STILL think this is funny...
dcsbass... Are you for real? You just gave is ALL the information that you asked for! -
I read .. But not enough sometimes.... I guess I didn't word it right...I know every mobo has some type of Vin or Id. That tells parts, shift, cpu, etc. I also know that every mobo is not made by the same company...That is what I'm asking for. Like this "DL3U11029AAA CPU". This came out of a CF-27. Is it on mobo, if yes where?
Thank You David C Sr -

I never promised to know computers....I ask "DUMB" questions alot. On This Forum.
I'm glad you laughed at it. Picking on me leaves some one else alone....Please read above!

I think that everyone was pointing out that you know all of the useful information there is to know about your motherboard already. I wouldn't be too surprised to find out that Panny subcontracted the mobo manufacturing and there may or may not be different part numbers that may or may not reflect that fact. I guess the big conundrum is why do you ask? Are you looking for a replacement, sheer curiosity (you do know about the cat right?), trying to determine upgrade parts interchangeability, etc?
-
I am not sure why you would want a detailed part #
The only reason I could think of would be to order a replacement from panasonic
I looked in the parts listing but the complete m/b is not listed
But here is just one examble of a item or part for your model cf-27
DFJH076ZA-T HARD DISK DRIVE 4GB 1071.93
That item the 4gb hard drive sells for over $1000, so I would not want to guess the price of a new m/b

I think dcsbass is trying to ask where/if the part number is printed/stamped on the motherboard inside his CF-27... (if you Google the "DL3U11029AAA CPU" he posted earlier, it's the part number for a CF-27 motherboard.) Perhaps his died, and he needs to find the part number of the one he has so he doesn't replace it with the wrong version/revision of CF-27 motherboard?

David,
I apologize for being churlish. The point I was trying to make, albeit somewhat ham handedly, is that while we love newbies on this forum and try to adhere to our self enforced no flaming policy, there are several stickyed threads at the beginning of the forum which represent a lot of work on the part of some members. Your CF-27 is not that much different than a CF-28 and a quiet hour spent reading some of the information there would answer a ton of questions. I know the search function here sucks and we probably should remind people more often that the fast way to search is to use Google off forum to find what you want to know. Try "replacing cpu in toughbook", not a great example, but the first thread that popped up is Gravitar, picoshark, modly, cadillac, and tough-to-go,concluding that desoldering the cpu was not practical. They of course promptly fly off topic and digress into a overclocking discussion. I, at least, tend to assume that people who appear here with old Toughbooks are not your run of the mill computer owners, but are the type who will not be satisfied with just any computer. These computers are not an assemblage of off the shelf parts, they are a very carefully engineered package with few outsourced parts. Don't be discouraged, we'll get the most we can out of your old dog. The appropriate answer to your question:
Nope, sorry but the mother boards in these are specifically made for each model, its very likely that the mother boards are not interchangeable even between marks. It would be much cheaper to buy a decent later model CF-27 or even CF-28 than to try to replace the mother board in your current box.

Hey... I learned a new word.... "Churlish"
churlish
One entry found.
Main Entry: churl·ish

Date: before 12th century
1 : of, resembling, or characteristic of a churl : vulgar

synonyms see boorish
— churl·ish·ly adverb
— churl·ish·ness noun
Cap... I don't think you were churlish... Maybe a bit curt... But definitely not churlish! -
See number 2 above. You might not believe this but I'm old enough to remember when my mother made the word up to describe my first mother in law.

Churlish? I thought he said Girlish
Give the guy a break you guys should go back a few months and look at your own post back in the early days.

Wait... Isn't killing a cat a little churlish too?
IM SOO CONFUSED!!! -
It would be curlish only if I was suggesting cat death rather than an off hand remark on what caused said death. OK fine. Patent pending, slightly off-kilter, curlish type humor it is then.
-
That's churlish not curlish, not withstanding T2G's totally unPC remark which I have chosen to ignore in my new kinder softer persona.
Curlish, I believe refers to Canadians in funny hats running around on hockey rinks with brooms? David, as part of your learning experience here, please note how fast we can fly off topic.

Okay... Back to the topic... dcsbass... Did you ever get the question answered to your satisfaction?
The weird thing is about some of the Panasonic parts is that the part numbers on the actual part don't jive with Panasonic. It's almost like they are reference numbers. A prime example is the RIM board that everyone used to be trying to find. If you call Heartland with the part number found on the RIM board itself they have no clue what you are talking about. When you Google it... It shows up as a part available at a washing machine parts supply place on the web.
I'm assuming that you were looking for part numbers out of curiosity and not because your motherboard is actually bad. If it is bad I would suggest ebay for parts (Or one of the guys here) as Heartland, even if they had it in stock, would charge you around 10 times what you could buy it for. Heartland DOES have it's uses though... Buying things in bulk and the rarer, harder to find stuff.
Just my two cents... -
I don't mind going off subject.... That is what I was looking for.
Thank You All
