Well I was surprised my cf-29 my only work laptop did not want to take a charge from either of my two chargers. I need the laptop for work so I had no choice but to look to craigs list for another touhbookreplacement
Came across a near new cf-29 for 299.00. Called the sseller and I have purchased a power supply from him before. He wants to sell one no warentee and it has windows 10. I personally do not like 8 or10. I asked if he had the windows 7 disk he said " I have windows 7 ultimate on flash drive" so I said "only the larger corporations can buy windows 7 how did aquire this uUSB drive?" I did not understand his reply in his broken english. He only wants to except cash but has a excellent eBay rating under hccauctions. What do you all think?

Way toooooooo much money for a CF-29 . You could find a real good CF-30MK2 for that kind of money and W7 does not run that great on a CF-29.

Okay picked up the laptop. I LOVE the speaker. Ohh man the one on the cf-29 was a defect design right out of the factory. I do not understand why the cf-30 is thicker model then the cf-29. Windows 10 is running just fine. A little slow, but not to much to worry about. I love how windows ten put the most common admin utilities in the start button by right clicking on it, rather then going though control panel ;)

Is there a plastic plate to glue to the top lid to prevent scratches in the magnesium cover?

"I do not understand why the cf-30 is thicker model then the cf-29."

it might be partially due to heat issues ...
the more room there is , the faster that heat generated can circulate via convection and thus be transfered to the case and from there be dissipated by radiation and convection .

    i probably missed this ...
what is the full model number of the one you are buying ?

"only the larger corporations can buy windows 7 how did aquire this uUSB drive?"
as far as i know , W7 can be purchased off-the-shelf by anyone .
M$ is still making/volume licensing the OS for the general home user and business

I cannot recall, but he said he is including windows 7 ultimate or enterprise. I said "how did you acquire the license to windows 7 enterprise...only large corporations can obtain this license from Microsoft" He gave me a reason and cannot recall. Well I just did a system icon check in control panel today and the system was licensed to HP???? I have a feeling the license is possibly copied. How can I trace back with this OS license originated from?

It is only the professional xp logo on the bottom. The think if If I contact Microsoft, then what? From my understanding windows 10 is free. But is it a upgrade from Windows xp or from Windows 7 or 8?

i have seen machines that did not have an OS that matched the key on the bottom ...
there are several legit reasons for this .

using a "key extractor" program would allow you find the key that is actually in use .
i would do this before contacting M$ .

there is also the "is this copy of windows legitimate" program you can run .
it is known by a couple of other names .

nope just the xp sticker on the bottom. But that does not mean A seller has purchased a license of Windows 10, or he purchased the laptop from some one else with a non licensed copy of Windows 10 or was upgraded to Windows 10 from another reseller.

Does it matter that the Win 7 OS might not have a genuine COA? MS is close to dumping Win 7 support like they did with XP last year. Personally Win7 is the best MS OS going as Vista, 8 (was there ever a 9?) and 10 are just not suited to CF28/29/30 systems. IMHO anyway.

Yes it does matter. You should have a COA on the bottom. I think they will support W7 until 2020 if I am right. I really don't want any support from them anyways. The only thing they are giving us is bugs (spying software) like they have for W10. All M$ wants is your personal data. Do a little reading on what they are trying to do with W7, W8, W8.1 and w10.
