just got my first toughbook cf-29 mk1,mainly as i do charity work for people with cancer,unfortunatly i didn,t get any backup discs so i need to make my own,my plan is to swap the 60gb hdd to a bigger one,do i need a bios backup disc,i know i will have to buy a new os disc,it,s the first time ive done anything like this so im trying to do it right.
any help/advice would be gratefully appreciated

XP Pro or Win 2k COA? Whats your model number?

The CF-29 is going to be XP Pro. Heartland Services sells the Recovery Disks... Call them with your EXACT model number and they should be able to set you up. I think the recovery disks go for around $30.... But then they nail you for shipping.
The hard drive swap is easy and is posted in one of the CF-29 F AQs.... -
My MK1 CF-29 is Win2k, I have a copy of the XP recovery disks tho

I would actually use one of the many free programs out there to do a disk to disk image.
You can just get a cheap USB external drive adapter to do it.

thanks for your replys,i appreciate the help and advice,the model i have is a cf-29 ctkgzke running win xp pro with service pk3,as im in the uk pc world has the hard drive i need,ive done the upgrade from a cd rom to a dvd rw,im just waiting to see if heartland will ship anything i need to the uk.
