Deleted ...as not needed.

Does the GPS show in the bios under Advanced> Serial Port Settings? Set it to Auto. There are no drivers to install, only the registry patch for the jumpy cursor. In Device Manager the GPS should be listed under Ports> COM3. It is not specified as GPS.

It will extract to C:\Util2. Disable the GPS in the bios. Run the .reg file. Enable the GPS in the bios. -
it will not let me do it error accesing reg auto inport has failed how do i work around this
-
dman even admin cmd is not working this is win 7 but this is a vista thing is that why it is not working
-
Try editing the .reg file. Change the 1 to a and see if that works. -

Did you use a restore disc? If not, did you ever have the "crazy" cursor? If not, the GPS is not connected. I'd check the flat cable that connects the GPS. I'm not sure if it's possible to connect it wrong. When I installed the GPS in my CF-19 I had problems at first. I reseated the cable and everything work OK now. I assume you have Com 3 showing in Device Manager. Make sure it is set to 4800bps. Also, remove the battery and charger. Then hold the power switch on for 10-15 seconds and try again.

i did use a restor disk but i did not find gps drivers on it atm i am installing ps3 i know that cable is in it shows in bios as it did not befor i turn it off in bios com 3 is no more in device manager im hopeing updates will fix it or it is not set to 4800bps or it is going to be a long night
it will not set at 4800bps it keep going back to 9600 -

You may very well have found firsthand the biggest gripe with the OEM GPS; it can take literally HOURS for it to get its initial "Lock"; it has to populate its table of active satellites and check & recheck against them until it's confident it has an accurate location, then it stores that info in CMOS memory. The sIRF III chipset GPSes do this very fast; fast enough that they don't even need to store that data, really, even though they do. That is why they are so popular here.
