i have used my cf-29 for a drivers logbook for over a year and looking to up grade to the cf-30 but i can not find 1 that fits the price that has oem gps and wwan touch that looks good so i have found oem gps kits for it but no oem wwan kit all i wont is the oem wwan antenna for it that i can use with a wwan sled but not going to buy the sled just yet
but can i even do some thing like this ?
-
-
For wwan you need few parts not just the sled or antena. You need metal rail, ribbon connector with stationary connector( sometime they called it docking connector for sled) and also a corner rubber bumper at the top of LCD.

I just quoted a overseas customer of mine ...well the antenna kit that is and he was looking at about $93.64 + $30.00 s/h = $123.64 (DL3MA1369FAA). I told him to sell his 30 and buy one that has it all installed...he was looking at about $700.00 + for OEM parts

You may try heartlandsi or request a quotation for the whole set. The installation is not hard. Just follow on the service manual. It is covered with detail.

I have the email address for Heartland customer service, this is not on there web site so if you want it PM me. If you request a quotation you will need all the part numbers , some come as a kit and some are all seperate and they are a lot of them

They have 42 of them for sale. -
These look like they might be off lease from special application use and all scratch in the same place from repetitive use, some could be worse then others though. If I was to buy from this seller I would ask for actual pictures of the unit they will send you.
-
ya i got the seller to part for 600 bucks cf-30 with touch no gps or wwan but gps looks ez to install and the one thing i like is toughbooks are ez to work on to me so i will fix it up so far i got a cf-30 and a Backlit Emissive Keyboard

Bookkeeping
Feed the sheep
Check for parts.
I'm on it.
Jeff -
yes the lid parts is all i need once i find a good gps with lid kit i will buy that and install both at the same time and at some point get to the wwan
-
So far I found the antenna. I'm sure I do not have the rubber corner. The pkg got separated but the search goes on.
-
ok will the ant come with the wire to run to the wwan or is that a new part #
you know any thing to do with the military got a part # and must be over complicated -
Did you find a picture of the WWAN corner? All I have right now is the piece that screws to the lid that the antenna slides through and the antenna. There must be a pcb with cable attached but I don't have that either.
Do you have a schematic (or a link to one?)Also link to parts list. Pictures are better. -
i think i did see a pic of the cover in the link some ware -

Thanks Blair, I knew I saw it. Now for a close up. The antenna lead is no issue but what does it fasten to. What service manual did this come from?
-
-
The antenna is enclosed in a "clamshell" maybe E501 and the part to the right of k1005. So I have K1006 k1007 and e501. I can see where k1005 lives but so far haven't found it.
Still looking as I clean the bench. I think the hens were up here scratching around. lol, -
wwan parts :
whip antenna,
ant sw pcb ,
if you do have the wwan and gps, you may need the dual pass thru pcb,
enjoy ! -
I hoped if I fumbled around long enuf someone would feel sorry for me.
Good flicks.
What does the end of the antenna lead look like inside the antenna clamshell bit?
Sorry Hammer all I have is this. Not including cable or rubber corner.Attached Files:

The problem with these service manuals is you need about 10 of them to make 1 good one. It would be nice if they had one that would have all the part numbers in it . What a pain in the A$$.

Just put the one you bought on your "Toughbook Collection" shelf and put your "searching" and "modding" behind you.

That's what I've done many times in order to get to the goal I set out to achieve.
