Well as I don’t drive no...

I was thinking of adding some usb 2.0 to it on the other side to were the Ethernet and 56k modem are, I have a rim something or other there under the battery, that will be coming out I also have a mini pci wifi card on its way and I am getting one of my engineers to draw me up some plans for a wifi antenna well two, I may change my screen to a touch screen but I have been told they aren’t very bright so may not, I have also ordered a new cover for the top of the cf 28 as mine is a bit scratched I have a few more things up my sleeve but I have to work on them a bit

Ill post some picas when I have finished one or two of them

Well this is the wifi card ill be using
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....m=170139769358&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=007

It’s nothing amazing but I just want to get everything working and then ill upgrade to the good stuff later on,
I will be using the pcmcia slot for the usb 2.0 upgrade I’m going to have to get my soldering things out for this one I think
Ill probably going to need someone’s help with the wifi upgrade to as i temporarily want to use the rim antenna on the top left hand of my screen
The problem is I think the connecters on my wifi card for the antenna are different from the rim connector so if any of you no a good place I can get wifi connectors and bits n bobs would be appreciated

I finally got all the drivers from the CD that Toughbook sent me on my server.

    http://modly.net/CF-28

Read the drivermanuallist.txt to figure out which drivers are which. I'll eventually resort them out so you won't have to do so much thinking, but it's 7:30am..

Just for quick reference, the 'm' folder is for all CF-28M (600MHz) books, 'pb-pc' is all 28P (800MHz), and 's' is 28S (1GHz).

Badjeep, I'm in Ann Arbor, about 2 blocks from the UofM stadium.

(And don't worry, I'm not a UofM student, I went to the community college, and dropped out with dignity)

There are two - three drivers that come up with yellow ?'s... Hotkey mgr driver, video driver and Touchscreen driver... I'll upload them now. Download the drivers... put them into a folder. Go into device mgr and ask it to update driver. Tell it where to install. Point it to the folder. Trial and error will tell you which is which. For the touchscreen... You have to update the mouse driver. I pulled my hair out for hours before finding that out. Credit me for saving you from "Mr. Ray's Hair Weave".....
I've been staining my deck all day... It's a big 'un... Let me take a shower and I will update all the drivers and apps you need. I'll also explain how they install.

The recovery CD just comes with some of the drivers (I think) and all the apps that Panasonic put on the laptop from the factory... Like DMI Viewer, Panasonic handwriting, backup utility, etc.

I installed that unknown device at the hotkey manager and it worked out fine.
even though my hotkeys were working just fine without the driver installed, or at least the ones I use appeard to be beforehand. Anyways So far everything appears to be working fine under a full xp install and the gps is not giving me any mouse problems though I have not used it to actually navigate around yet.

Not sure who exactly was webwhacking the drivers, but they did it in a retarded way and one person's IP transfered 1.4GB worth of files from a 200MB folder.

With that said, I'm killing the server for the night. You don't need 7 copies of the drivers... really.

Somebody was using an automated downloader (Webwhacker, it grabs all files in a directory and it's spinoffs), but they set something funny or tried launching it too many times, because one person at a single IP downloaded every file almost 7 times.

This killed the hell out of my upload bandwidth, and bogged my server down with one person's tasks. I'll start it back up tomorrow morning, but for now I need some bandwidth and processor time free on that box.

    Linky yes worky!

One question tho. In this Graphics/Win2000 folder, I think there are 114 files  Wouldn't it have been easier to zip the whole folder instead of UL'ing/DL'ing individual files? [plus a readme to unzip before installation?]

Modly, I downloaded a bunch of 'em and thanks for hosting. Hope I didn't put a strain on ya torrent seeds!

Naw, you were fine. As long as you only had a few hundred MB or less, I'm not worried about it. I had to ban a Korean IP a few months ago for being a dumbass and running a bad script nabbing several GB (Downloaded the same files many, many, many times). That's why the link didn't work when Toughbook checked it, because I killed apache for an hour while revising the config.
