Touchscreen works great. Now none of my hotkeys work and my device manager is giving me a yellow ! mark next to the keyboard device.

I can't bring up my screen or keyboard brightness. I've tried everything I could think of and scoured the forums and Google...

I just ordered a CF-29 with TS. I sure hope I don't have as many problems with it as I have with this 28!

I'm sorry you are having problems with you cf-28

That has not been my personal experience with any of the toughbooks since xp-pro was available.

I have found them to be reliable and stable.

I can send you the panasonic restore disks for it, if it originaly had wxp-pro coa.
The restore disks are model specific , so if it has a coa for w2k ,the xppro disks will not load on it.

    I don't have any for w2k, but I have wxp-pro for all the cf-28's

Thanks, I got your PM about the restore disks.

I've had a 29 for two years and it's been the best notebook I've ever had. I'll get this resolved- I'm fairly nerdy and like most good nerds I can reason well and have good problem solving skills.

    Bungle -

Have you looked in Modly's filesource?

    http://www.modly.org/Toughbook/

He has the Hotkey drivers (which is probably what you're missing) for most of the CF-28 models out there; it's where I found the driver for both of mine.

I got it- thanks for your help. I used the japan link and it worked well.

I'm going to go a Norton Ghost image of my drive right now because I reinstalled Windows and got this thing all clean and working.

That way, I'll NEVER have this problem again!

When you figure out the drivers for one model.
You are now on your way to figuring out all the toughbooks.

You will be a pro before long :)
