Hi, new member here. Just purchased a used cf29e on ebay and I have everything figured out but the wireless switch (the one to the left of the handle). What does it do exactly? Are there lights in the switch or in the icons next to it? Internal wireless works (I'm typing this from the cf29) but the switch does nothing. I have all updated drivers as suggested in the faq as well as xp sp3. The installed manual has nothing about the switch or icons. Thanks.

First, please post your unit's Model Number, such as CF-29Exxxxxx.

Second, depending on the Model Number, you probably have built-in WWAN (or as noted by ohlip below, is "WWAN-ready").

Does the unit have a retractable antenna on the screen lid?

That control switch is for WWAN not for WLAN. The switch control can only be activated with the presence of WWAN modem and its driver. If it does nothing to your unit, I will assume that your unit is only wireless wan ready.
