Interesting question. My wife uses Quickbooks daily in a business but not on a Toughbook yet.

I looked at the Quickbooks Support site here QuickBooks Support - System requirements for QuickBooks 2011 and Enterprise Solutions 11.0
and I think QB has delusions of grandeur or something. Compare the 2006 version with the 2011.

    2006
At least 500 MHz (1 GHz recommended) Intel Pentium II (or equivalent) computer.
At least 128 MB (512 MB recommended) of RAM.

    2011
2.0 GHz processor; 2.4 GHz recommended
1 GB RAM for single user, 2 GB RAM recommended for multiple users
2.5 GB of disk space (additional space required for data files)

They are a good outfit, I used Quicken for years........but trying to be too many things for too many people has caused them to run away from the older computers.

So the answer is yes for older versions and I don't know yet for newer. (for the 1.3)

Call 'em and ask if there is a stripped down version.

    Welcome to the forum.

    Jeff
