Received my Ledco CF-2x toughdock today - it's a Ledco DS.CFX.E.HGS from this seller on Ebay and is described as a 'Ledco CFX TuffDock Docking Station-Ethernet-1 High Gain' which is accurate.

The unit certainly does have a single antenna pass-through lead fitted. Just need to see how well it mates with my CF-28 since Ledco's website says it suits CF-28/29/30 models. The brass locating lug/pin on the left side of the top plate not a round pin so it might be a version of the pin that is specific to the CF-29 or 30 systems? It's brass so easy to modify if need be.
The DC power connector is a type I have seen before in some computer power supplies and I think it's a standard 2-pin Molex device. I wonder if Lind have special power cables to join to it, or perhaps Ledco does.
Anyway so far I'm impressed with the quality. I haven't addressed how I'll mount the docking station in my car yet. That's something that'll take a bit longer to sort out. Only a week to my annual leave so it'll be looked at more when I'm back home with access to all my electronics supplies, tools, etc. that stayed there when I moved to Adealide.
Craig.

You got LUCKY. Didn't you look at this seller's feedback? I mean dozens of NEGATIVE and "feedback mutually withdrawn"; more than a few describing the seller as "mentally unstable". If I see anything less than 99.9% I dig into the seller's history. He's got too many complaints for selling bad tubes & not shipping product for it to all be wingnut buyers; I sure would have looked elsewhere, especially with the amount you spent on shipping.
I guess it all worked out in the end; I'm glad you got what you bid on. I guess you were willing to take a risk since he was willing to ship to Oz...

FleaBay - Just like 18th century Calcutta, only without that sense of security... -
True I was in touch with the person quite a bit before bidding. The description was accurate and correct for the product and yes willingness to ship to Oz helps. A lot of people won't ship outside the USA. Gasp I make a point with my Ebay listings, etc. to make it very clear I will ship anywhere (including places where certain western governments try to impose freight imbargo's due to whatever reason) - I've sent brand new Sun computers to India, shipped stuff to Indonesia, and places in Africa. I used very reliable ways to make sure payments were fully legit before sending anything.
What good ways have any of you come up with to mount these docking stations in 'normal' cars (I don't mean police or military vehicles, trucks, or non-car civilian stuff like Ford F-series, Hummers, etc. lol)?
Ledco makes really good mounting stuff for a lot of US-specific models so I think I'll still be custom-making something, esp. since its for a RHD vehicle.

I've seen a lot of people using pipe fittings to make a crude pedestal - in fact, a number of eBay's best selling "kit" builders use nothing more than galvanized pipe with railing fittings and large corrugated split loom (That stuff that looks like Shop-Vac hose with a slit down one side) to hide the ugly.
If you want to make something slightly less "Ghetto-Fab", or if you want to mount to some convenient existing hardware like the seat mount bolts instead of drilling screws through your floorboards, you're going to have to spend some real money.
Whether you spend the money on the much more expensive articulated mounts, or you spend it on welding & fabricating it yourself, the nice hardware doesn't come cheap.

While pizza does make an attractive and tasty hat, it does not fare well in the rain... -
Ghetto-Fab, is that like painting the lid on a CF-28 and then selling it on Ebay as "refurbished"?????

Only if it's candy-apple red...

I am Polish. I am an Engineer. Therefore, I understand Polish-Engineering intimately. I will NEVER understand American Auto Manufacturers, however... -
It was used in a techno/rave track in the early 1990's which is still very popular at old-skool rave parties, etc. Showing my age now. lol
Nothing wrong with so-called 'ghetto-fab' if it does the job! I'm a hardware hacker from way back, and have customised and even custom-made enclosures for all sort of electronic projects and devices in the past. So I'm not scared to have a go.
Do Polish engineers build things using RPM (Reverse Polish Manufacturing) by employing lots of RPN (Reverse Polish Notation) in their methodology?

I've got the Gamber-Johnson version and it's got one flat and one round pin, Just like yours. I've successfully mounted a 27, 28, and 29 on it.

Not only do we use RPN methodology, we are adept a left-handed Latvian Rodeo Torture...
